Biology and Biophysics Researcher for AI Model Training

This role offers an exciting opportunity for accomplished biology and biophysics researchers to contribute to the development of next-generation AI systems designed for scientific reasoning. You will collaborate with leading labs to enhance models that reason about various biological disciplines, including molecular biology, biophysics, structural biology, immunology, neuroscience, and genomics, at a level that reflects real-world research.
Key Responsibilities- Author and review complex biology and biophysics problems used to train and evaluate advanced AI models.
- Evaluate model outputs on tasks such as mechanism prediction, experimental design, and literature interpretation.
- Identify areas where current models fail, particularly mistakes that a working PhD would recognize.
- Collaborate with a small program team and other senior contributors.
We are looking for researchers with a strong academic background, including:
- First-author or co-first-author publications in prestigious journals such as Nature, Science, Cell, PNAS, eLife, NEJM, and others.
- Doctoral or postdoctoral training from a top-20 global institution in life sciences or STEM.
- Competitive fellowships (e.g., HHMI, NIH, NSF, Damon Runyon, and others).
- Issued patents, spin-out companies, or grants where the candidate was a named PI or co-PI.
- Current or recent active research roles such as PhD candidate, postdoc, instructor, faculty, principal scientist, or industry researcher.
Outstanding senior PhD students and recent graduates with strong publication records are encouraged to apply; depth of research output is valued over years of experience.
Work Terms- Part-time commitment of 8 to 20 hours per week.
- This is a W-2 employment position with Cincinnatus LLC, which handles payroll, benefits, and compliance.
- No fixed end date; contributors will remain engaged as long as their expertise is needed.
Compensation is competitive and reflects the research seniority and credentials of the candidate.
