About this role
Role Overview
Build customer-facing native mobile and full-stack product experiences within a large enterprise technology organization. This mobile-first role centers on Android development in Kotlin while offering end-to-end feature ownership across backend services, APIs, and web applications. AI coding tools are part of the day-to-day engineering workflow.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and release features for native mobile applications, primarily Android applications written in Kotlin.
- Contribute across backend services, APIs, and web applications as needed.
- Use AI-powered development tools to understand unfamiliar codebases and deliver high-quality work.
- Participate in technical design, code reviews, and production support.
- Partner with Product, UX, and engineering teams, and support the growth of fellow engineers.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Hands-on native mobile development experience, ideally Android with Kotlin and Jetpack.
- iOS and Swift experience is welcome. Flutter or React Native experience is relevant when paired with some native mobile development experience.
- Production experience beyond mobile, such as backend services, APIs, or web applications.
- Strong foundations in software design, testing, and debugging.
- Comfort using AI coding tools such as Copilot, Cursor, or Claude.
- Clear communication skills and a collaborative, curious approach.
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to LLM-powered features, including RAG, embeddings, or agents.
- Experience with accessibility standards.
- Experience building applications involving accounts, payments, or orders.
- These preferred qualifications are not all required to apply.
Work Terms
- United States location requirement.
- Full-time, weekday commitment of at least 40 hours per week.
- Hourly W-2 employment, with payroll, benefits, and compliance provided through the employer of record while working within a client engineering team.
Compensation
$50 to $90 per hour.
