Role Overview
Prepare and refine German-language voice recordings used to train speech and text to speech systems, ensuring technical quality, pronunciation accuracy, and consistency across large datasets. This role focuses on hands on audio cleanup, technical quality assurance, and linguistic evaluation to meet strict machine learning pipeline specifications. Native or near native German fluency is required to assess pronunciation, naturalness, and fluency.
Key Responsibilities- Edit and process German voice recordings for use in TTS and speech AI systems.
- Perform audio cleanup tasks, including silence trimming, breath reduction or removal, de clicking, de essing, and noise reduction.
- Conduct detailed quality assurance checks for clipping and distortion, background noise and artifacts, and loudness consistency and level balancing.
- Ensure audio files meet strict technical specifications required by ML training pipelines.
- Evaluate recordings for German pronunciation accuracy, naturalness, and fluency.
- Work with large batches of recordings, maintaining throughput and consistent application of quality standards.
- Collaborate with teams producing German speech datasets, coordinating with voice talent recording and model training workflows.
- Native or near native German speaker, with strong listening intuition for German speech nuances.
- Experience editing speech or voice recordings, not limited to music production.
- Strong understanding of speech audio quality standards and common issues in recorded dialogue.
- Hands on experience with audio restoration and editing tools such as iZotope RX, Pro Tools, or similar software.
- Ability to identify and fix artifacts, inconsistencies, and technical defects in recorded speech.
- Experience working with high volume audio datasets or within structured, repeatable workflows.
- Preferred: experience with TTS vendors or platforms, prior involvement in speech ML or voice AI dataset creation and annotation, familiarity with audio QA pipelines or labeling processes, and experience directing or editing German voice talent recordings.
- Ideal profile: detail oriented, strong critical listening skills in German, comfortable with repetitive high precision tasks at scale, and able to balance speed and quality in production environments.

- Employment type: Hourly.
- Pay: 50 - 50 hourly, equivalent to 50 per hour.
