Role Overview

Contribute authentic South African English voice recordings to the development of natural, expressive text-to-speech experiences for an internal customer-experience AI agent. This opportunity suits South Africa-based native English speakers with a clear, expressive voice, whether or not they have prior professional voice-acting experience.

Your recordings may be used to clone your voice for this specific CX AI agent. They will be used only for that internal purpose and will not be sold, licensed, or reused for another product, dataset, or purpose.

Key Responsibilities

• Record high-quality voice samples for conversational, narrative, instructional, and other scripts.
• Deliver clear, natural, expressive speech with controlled tone, pacing, and pronunciation.
• Maintain consistent voice quality, accent, and delivery throughout recording sessions.
• Follow recording requirements for environment, microphone setup, and file formatting.
• Complete multiple takes with varied emotion, emphasis, and style when requested.

Qualifications

• Native English speaker with an authentic South African accent who is currently based in South Africa.
• Clear, natural, expressive voice. Voice acting, narration, or broadcast experience is beneficial but not required.
• Professional or near-professional recording setup, including a quality microphone, quiet environment, and pop filter.
• Strong intonation, diction, and emotional range.
• Ability to follow scripts accurately while preserving a natural delivery.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience recording for text-to-speech, audiobooks, IVR systems, or AI voice datasets.
• Familiarity with audio-editing tools such as Audacity, Adobe Audition, or Reaper.
• Ability to perform multiple vocal styles, including conversational, corporate, energetic, and calm delivery.

Work Terms

• Remote hourly engagement.
• One recording session of approximately 4 hours.
• A second session of similar length may be requested based on client needs, but is not guaranteed.
• This is an ongoing opening, with new voices considered on a rolling basis.

Compensation

$50 to $100 per hour.
