The role of a Network Security Engineer offers a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in network security to contribute to the training of next-generation AI systems. This position is fully remote and allows you to work as a contractor, with compensation ranging from $20 to $80 per hour.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee comprehensive network security management, including firewall and intrusion prevention system (IPS) configuration and maintenance.
- Continuously monitor, analyze, and respond to network security events, identifying and mitigating potential threats in real time.
- Implement and maintain robust cloud and endpoint security controls across diverse platforms and environments.
- Lead efficient incident response efforts, including investigation, containment, eradication, and reporting of security incidents.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and enforce security best practices and standards aligned to business needs.
- Guide and mentor other team members, fostering a culture of security awareness and professional development.
- Ensure full compliance with relevant security policies, regulations, and industry standards.
- Proven expertise in network security management, including configuring firewalls, VPNs, and network segmentation.
- Strong experience monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving network security issues using advanced tools.
- Demonstrated ability to implement and oversee cloud and endpoint security solutions in multi-cloud or hybrid environments.
- Hands-on incident response experience, including investigation, remediation, and documentation of security events.
- Exceptional collaborative abilities, with a track record of mentoring and knowledge sharing within technical teams.
- In-depth knowledge of security frameworks, regulatory compliance, and policy development.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or equivalent are highly valued.
- Experience with automation and orchestration tools for security operations.
- Background securing enterprise SaaS, IaaS, or PaaS environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
