Military Operations and Reporting SME

Role Overview

Apply firsthand U.S. Department of Defense experience in military operations, staff processes, and recurring reporting to help improve next-generation AI systems. This remote contract role focuses on evaluating reporting content, providing expert feedback, and creating realistic examples grounded in real-world DoD practices. Prior AI experience is not required.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate military and DoD reporting content for accuracy, clarity, and alignment with real-world procedures.
• Use experience gathering information from multiple teams or staff sections to assess reports and executive updates prepared for senior leadership.
• Provide high-quality written feedback on AI-generated reporting materials.
• Evaluate AI outputs for appropriate military terminology, reporting standards, and effective information synthesis.
• Develop and refine realistic reporting examples and scenarios for AI training.

Qualifications

• Military operations expertise and knowledge of DoD reporting standards.
• Strong report-writing, information-synthesis, written-communication, and content-evaluation skills.
• At least 3 years of experience within the U.S. Department of Defense as a uniformed service member, DoD civilian, or both.
• Experience personally preparing recurring reports or executive updates for senior military or DoD leadership.
• Experience with Weekly Activity Reports, Project or Program Status Reports, Performance or Accomplishment Reports, After-Action Reports, or Budget Execution Reports.
• Background in military operations, plans, headquarters or command staff, program management, executive support, or resource management.
• Experience as an Operations Officer or NCO, Plans Officer, Action Officer, Staff Officer, Executive Officer, or a similar headquarters role is preferred.

Work Terms

• Remote contract engagement.

Compensation

• $40 to $80 per hour.
