About this role
Apply your mechanical engineering expertise to help train advanced AI and robotics systems by reviewing and annotating video footage of robots, mechanical systems, tools, components, and physical interactions. This remote contract role is designed for engineers who can recognize how mechanical parts move, interact, and behave, then translate those observations into technically accurate training data. Previous AI experience is not required.
Key Responsibilities- Review videos featuring robotic systems, mechanical components, tools, equipment, and physical tasks.
- Annotate and label objects, movements, actions, components, and mechanical interactions shown in video footage.
- Identify important engineering details, including motion, positioning, component behavior, and task sequences.
- Review annotations for technical accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
- Use mechanical engineering knowledge to identify incorrect, unclear, or incomplete annotations.
- Follow project guidelines and annotation standards carefully.
- Provide feedback on difficult or ambiguous video examples.
- Work independently and complete assigned annotation tasks within project timelines.
- 2 or more years of experience in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, Manufacturing, Robotics, or a related field.
- Good understanding of mechanical components, tools, machines, and physical systems.
- Ability to understand how mechanical parts and systems move and interact.
- Knowledge of 3D CAD modeling and tolerances.
- Experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, NX, Creo, or CATIA is a plus.
- Exposure to robotics, automation, manufacturing, or industrial equipment is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify small differences in video content.
- Good written English and the ability to follow detailed instructions.
- Previous experience with video annotation, data labeling, AI training, or computer vision projects is a plus, but is not required.
- Remote contract engagement.
- Work is performed independently within assigned project timelines and according to defined annotation standards.
Hourly compensation ranges from $50 to $90.
