Contribute to the advancement of AI systems focused on scientific and mathematical reasoning as a Mathematics Researcher. This role offers the unique opportunity to work alongside leading AI labs, engaging with complex mathematical concepts and models that require a level of expertise akin to that of a working research mathematician.
Key Responsibilities- Author and review challenging mathematics problems for training and evaluating advanced AI models.
- Evaluate model outputs on tasks such as proof construction, verification, problem-solving, formalization, and conjecture exploration.
- Identify areas where current models fail, particularly subtle errors that a seasoned mathematician would recognize.
- Collaborate with a small program team and other senior contributors to enhance model performance.
- First-author or sole-author publications in prestigious mathematics journals, such as Annals of Mathematics or Journal of the AMS.
- Doctoral or postdoctoral training from a top-20 global institution in mathematics or STEM.
- Competitive fellowships and honors, including the Clay Research Fellowship or NSF Postdoctoral Fellowship.
- Experience as a named PI or co-PI on NSF CAREER or other grants.
- Currently or recently active in a research role: PhD candidate, postdoc, instructor, faculty, principal researcher, or industry research mathematician.
- Outstanding senior PhD students and recent graduates with strong publication records are encouraged to apply.
- Part-time commitment of 8 to 20 hours per week.
- No fixed end date; contributions continue as long as the program requires expertise.
- Hourly compensation ranging from $35 to $50, reflecting research seniority and credentials.
- This is a W-2 employment position with Cincinnatus LLC.
