About this role
Apply your real-world machine learning judgment to help assess and improve advanced AI systems. Your experience becomes the standard used to evaluate model outputs, especially where technically plausible approaches may not hold up in production.
Role OverviewThis is an ongoing talent-pool listing for machine learning practitioners interested in AI training and evaluation work. It is not tied to one active project, and matching opportunities may begin on short notice.
Key Responsibilities- Create modeling problems based on systems you have shipped, including the data, objective, constraints, and reference answer used to assess model responses.
- Review AI-generated training and evaluation code, including whether the loss function aligns with the objective, evaluation data leaks, or ablation results support the stated conclusion.
- Identify proposals that may train successfully but fail in production because of distribution shift, label noise, or misaligned metrics.
- Professional experience training, evaluating, or deploying machine learning systems.
- Experience putting models in front of real users and responding to real-world outcomes.
- Clear written communication to explain technical reasoning.
- Comfort working through ambiguous tasks and calling out unclear instructions.
- Remote, hourly independent contractor work.
- Specific project invitations will state the rate, expected hours, and client.
- This listing itself does not make an acceptance or rejection decision. Candidates are contacted when a project aligns with their background, which may take from about a week to several months depending on available projects.
Comparable machine learning projects pay $70 to $120 per hour, with the final rate set by each project’s scope and depth.
EligibilityComplete registration once to remain eligible for matching across all relevant expert pools. Completing the domain-expert interview and joining each pool for which you qualify can improve matching opportunities.
Application ProcessSubmit your resume, confirm your work location, and complete a short AI interview of about 20 minutes. Your background will be verified before you are added to the machine learning talent pool and considered for matching projects.
