As a Linguistic Expert, you will play a crucial role in analyzing, transcribing, and deconstructing English language content at an advanced level. This position offers the opportunity to leverage your native-level English proficiency to provide precision and insight into complex linguistic tasks while collaborating in a remote environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Transcribe video content accurately, clearly marking detailed timestamps throughout each file.
- Analyze and describe the emotional tone, intent, and delivery of speakers within the content.
- Evaluate and provide insight into grammatical structures, syntax, and general language usage.
- Define and explain nuanced conceptual aspects of English vocabulary and phrases as presented in media.
- Perform advanced linguistic assessments, including tone, register, and contextual meaning.
- Collaborate effectively within the team, ensuring consistency and quality in language-related deliverables.
- Maintain high standards for both written and verbal communication throughout all work.
- Native-level proficiency in English, with superior written and verbal abilities.
- Deep understanding of linguistic theory, grammar, and language analysis methods.
- Proven experience in transcription, linguistic annotation, or similar language-focused roles.
- Acute attention to detail and precision in transcribing and annotating audio-visual material.
- Ability to accurately capture speaker emotion, grammar, and tone in a concise manner.
- Strong organizational skills and commitment to meeting project deadlines.
- Minimum commitment of 15 hours per week, with flexibility for additional hours as needed.
- Advanced degree in Linguistics, English, or a related field.
- Experience with language technology tools or linguistic research projects.
- Background in analyzing complex language data or working with multimedia content.
Contract position available for full-time or part-time engagement, fully remote.
Compensation:Hourly pay ranges from $40 to $95.
