About this role
Apply engineering judgment to help evaluate and improve advanced AI systems. Your professional standards and technical expertise will inform the criteria used to assess AI-generated engineering work.
Key Responsibilities- Create engineering design problems based on work you have completed, including loads, constraints, tolerances, and a reference solution.
- Evaluate AI-written analyses for appropriate failure-mode selection, valid assumptions within the stated regime, and correct application of safety factors.
- Identify designs that may satisfy calculations but fail in practical use because of manufacturability, installation, corrosion, or applicable standards.
- Degree in an engineering discipline and professional design or analysis experience.
- Clear written communication skills for explaining technical reasoning.
- Comfort working through ambiguous tasks and flagging unclear instructions.
- Experience seeing a design built and understanding its real-world performance is valued more than where you trained.
Relevant disciplines include structural, civil, environmental, mechanical, aerospace, industrial, robotics, electrical, chemical, and materials engineering.
Work Terms- Remote, hourly work.
- This is an ongoing talent pool for AI training and evaluation projects, not a specific current opening. Projects may begin with short notice.
- When a project matches your discipline, you may receive an invitation to a separate role detailing the rate, hours, and client. Selection decisions are made for that specific project.
- This listing itself does not issue acceptances or rejections. A matching opportunity may arise within a week or take several months, depending on available projects.
Engineering projects have paid $60 to $125 per hour, with the rate set by each project''s scope and technical depth.
EligibilityCompleting the domain-expert interview and joining each network for which you qualify can improve matching opportunities. A single registration makes you eligible across relevant networks.
Application Process- Submit your resume and confirm your work location.
- Complete a short AI interview, approximately 20 minutes.
- Your background will be verified before you are added to the engineering talent pool.
