About this role

Help shape a benchmark for AI agents performing real enterprise cyber defense work by sharing how security operations function in practice. This is a short, paid research engagement focused on expert conversations, not a task, data-labeling, or deliverables project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in two to three one-hour video conversations over approximately four weeks, scheduled around your availability.
  • Discuss the tools you use, the work that enters your queue, and where professional judgment is most important.
  • Explain how your team evaluates the quality of triage, investigations, containment, threat hunts, detection rules, and patches.
  • Share where AI assistance is useful, where it creates friction, and what would make an AI benchmark credible for this work.
  • Review a draft task taxonomy and identify missing, mislabeled, or differently weighted areas.
Qualifications
  • Current or recent hands-on enterprise security experience.
  • Relevant backgrounds include SOC analyst or SOC lead roles at tier 2 or above, incident response, digital forensics, detection engineering, threat hunting, application security, product security, or security engineering involving red team engagements.
  • Application or product security candidates should have experience identifying and remediating vulnerabilities in production code.
  • Experience with EDR and SIEM platforms such as CrowdStrike Falcon, Microsoft Defender and Sentinel, Splunk, SentinelOne, Elastic, or similar tools is a plus.
  • Security leaders are welcome if they remain closely involved in hands-on work.
Work Terms
  • Remote, hourly engagement for candidates based in the United States.
  • Sessions are one hour each, with no preparation expected.
  • There is nothing to build, label, or submit.
Compensation
  • $125 to $175 per hour for interview time, paid as a spot bonus.
Confidentiality
  • Discuss general work patterns rather than specific incidents, and do not share confidential information about current or former employers or customers.
  • Your input will be used only to design the benchmark and will not be attributed to you or your employer.
