Role Overview
Computer Science experts apply advanced research and domain knowledge to improve large language models by designing domain-specific prompts, evaluating model outputs, and conducting topic research assisted by AI. This role supports ongoing AI research projects that run year-round, with specific project assignments dependent on availability in each domain.
Key Responsibilities- Develop domain-specific prompts and tasks for large language models.
- Evaluate and annotate model responses for accuracy, clarity, and domain fidelity.
- Perform independent research on topics of interest, using AI tools to assist investigation and synthesis.
- Learn and adopt new techniques relevant to AI model evaluation and prompt engineering while contributing domain expertise.
- Work asynchronously with project teams and partner AI labs to meet project goals and deliverables.
- Doctoral students, doctoral candidates, recent PhD graduates, or individuals in postdoctoral positions in Computer Science.
- Experience or comfort with independent, primarily asynchronous work alongside research teams or external AI labs.
- Confidence that your subject-matter expertise exceeds current AI systems in explaining and reasoning about key concepts in your field.
- Employment type: PART_TIME.
- Remote, asynchronous work from any location.
- Flexible hours, with no minimum weekly-hour commitment required.
- Project placement is not guaranteed, assignment depends on current project availability by domain.
- The program accepts contributions year-round, however specific projects and openings will vary over time.
- Up to $75/hr (depending on the project).
- F-1 international students may be eligible if they have valid CPT or OPT authorization, but you must confirm eligibility with your Designated School Official before accepting work.
- If your school requires enrollment in a CPT course for off-campus work, this program may not meet that requirement.
- STEM OPT is not supported for participation in this program.
