About this role
Apply your chemistry judgment to help evaluate and improve frontier AI models. Your practical standards and subject-matter expertise will inform the reference criteria used to assess model outputs.
This is an ongoing talent-pool listing for AI training and evaluation projects, rather than a specific active assignment. Projects may begin on short notice, and candidates are contacted when relevant work becomes available.
Key Responsibilities- Create synthesis or characterization problems based on your own work, including substrates, conditions, analytical data, and a reference answer for evaluating model responses.
- Assess AI-proposed synthetic routes and mechanisms, including whether disconnections are sensible, selectivity claims are supported, and spectra align with assigned structures.
- Identify proposals that may appear viable in theory but are impractical in laboratory conditions because of side reactivity, workup losses, or reagent compatibility.
- Graduate degree in chemistry or a related field, with laboratory or computational research experience.
- Hands-on experience conducting reactions and interpreting data, recent enough to clearly explain your scientific judgment.
- Clear written communication skills, as much of the work involves documenting reasoning.
- Comfort working through ambiguous tasks and flagging unclear instructions.
- Remote, hourly engagement.
- Each matching project will specify its rate, required hours, and client.
- Project invitations depend on current project availability and alignment with your background. Contact may occur within a week or take several months.
Past project rates have ranged from $65 to $105 per hour, with the rate set by project scope and depth.
EligibilityComplete the expert interview and join each network for which you qualify to improve matching opportunities. A single registration makes you eligible across the applicable networks.
Application Process- Submit your resume and confirm your work location.
- Complete a short AI interview, approximately 20 minutes total.
- Your background will be verified before you are added to the chemistry talent pool.
- This listing does not issue acceptances or rejections. If a project is a fit, you may be invited to its specific listing, where any hiring decision is made.
