Key Responsibilities- Author and review complex biology and biophysics problems to train and evaluate cutting-edge AI models.
- Evaluate model outputs on diverse tasks, including mechanism prediction, experimental design, and literature interpretation.
- Identify areas where current models fall short, particularly mistakes that a seasoned PhD researcher would recognize.
- Collaborate with a small program team and other senior contributors to enhance model performance.
This position is designed for accomplished researchers with a strong track record. Ideal candidates will possess:
- First-author or co-first-author publications in prestigious journals such as Nature, Science, Cell, PNAS, eLife, NEJM, and top specialty journals.
- Doctoral or postdoctoral training from a top-20 global institution in life sciences or STEM fields.
- Competitive fellowships (e.g., HHMI, NIH, NSF, Damon Runyon) or equivalent recognition.
- Issued patents, spin-out companies, or grants where the candidate was a named PI or co-PI.
- A current or recent active research role, such as PhD candidate, postdoc, instructor, faculty, principal scientist, or industry researcher.
Outstanding senior PhD students and recent graduates with strong publication records are encouraged to apply, as the depth of research output is valued over years of experience.
Work Terms- Part-time commitment of 8 to 20 hours per week.
- W-2 employment with Cincinnatus LLC, which manages payroll, benefits, and compliance.
- No fixed end date; contributions will continue as long as the program requires your expertise.
Compensation is competitive and reflects research seniority and credentials, ranging from $125 to $225 per hour.
