Role Overview
Join a cutting-edge initiative to create realistic enterprise environments for training and evaluating frontier AI agents. This role invites experienced automotive mechanical engineering professionals from Fortune 500 OEMs and major Tier-1 suppliers to leverage their expertise in vehicle design, powertrain and chassis engineering, manufacturing engineering, or automotive quality. Your contributions will help build a high-fidelity digital workspace that mirrors the tools and workflows of a modern automotive enterprise, while designing tasks that challenge state-of-the-art AI.
Key Responsibilities- Construct a realistic digital workspace based on your daily Drive folders, including design reviews, DFMEA/PFMEA documents, PPAP packages, tolerance analyses, benchmarking decks, test reports, and relevant email threads, incorporating platforms like ANSYS Fluent/STAR-CCM+, Siemens Opcenter, and SAP S/4HANA.
- Design multi-step tasks rooted in your actual workflows, requiring navigation through various applications, files, and stakeholders to effectively challenge frontier AI agents.
- Collaborate with fellow automotive engineering experts to design the environment, define task scope, and review scenarios for realism and rigor.
- Work asynchronously with research teams to refine task designs and establish evaluation criteria for automotive engineering agent benchmarks.
- Contribute to pioneering AI research and benchmarking, directly influencing how leading labs train and evaluate the next generation of AI systems.
- BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 3+ years of full-time experience at a Fortune 500 automotive OEM or Tier-1 supplier.
- Expertise in one or more areas such as:
- Vehicle or subsystem design (body, chassis, interior, powertrain, thermal).
- CAE/CAD/simulation engineering (structural, NVH, CFD, durability).
- Manufacturing/process engineering (stamping, body-in-white, assembly, paint).
- Quality engineering under IATF 16949/APQP/PPAP.
- EV/battery/ADAS engineering.
- Proficient in using ANSYS Fluent/STAR-CCM+, Siemens Opcenter or Rockwell FactoryTalk, and SAP S/4HANA on a daily basis.
- Strong analytical thinking and writing skills, capable of translating automotive engineering workflows into structured task specifications.
- Task Completion Pay: Competitive, based on task quality (~$1, 150, $1, 450 per completed task, subject to change as the project evolves).
- Performance Bonus: Top performers receive a weekly bonus incentive in addition to their per task rate.
- Hourly Opportunity: Top performers may be invited to transition to an hourly compensation model based on sustained quality and throughput.
